**Q: How many inches is the handle**
A: The handle length, including axe head, is 33" long.

**Q: Do I need to sharpen it before using?**
A: i found it fully sharpened with rubber-type cover on the blade part (abt 1 cm on edge, removable of course but added safety in handling)

**Q: Is the head hung upside down**
A: Not sure exactly what you are asking but I find this a good nicely balanced axe. The axe head has a slight curve on the upper side which seems the correct placement and anyway works well for me. Hope this helps.
