Our preference for the standard botle (ie not stainless or insulated) Is to leave the straw long and squeeze it in, preventing rough handling from dislodging the straw, something our children have managed to do. We do have two that have survived from Nursery to primary school with the exception bite valves. These appear to be made just for the child size bottles. **Q: Is this for the eddy kids 14oz bottle?** A: Yes, kids design has a pull through bite valve so they dont rip the tip off and pour the water out, rather than just the external nipple of the adult tops. However if you want it for a larger volume bottle the tops are intetchangable and the kids straw slides inside the adult straw so you can put a kids top on an existing adult sized bottle **Q: Is it also for kids camel steel bottles?** A: Yes **Q: This item is called eddy+ kids but the product description says not compatible with eddy + kids. Which is it?** A: It is compatible.
