Review: Wish I had Gotten this Sooner! - I used to think I didn't have a green thumb, but over the years, I've tried and tried and YouTube has helped me learn a ton about caring for house plants. I now have a jungle in all three of my apartment rooms! I still have a mishap on occasion and honestly, it's usually about watering. I got tired of sticking my finger into dirt and started using a chopstick and checking to see if the bottom was moist. Meh. Then I figured I'd give this moisture meter a try. I'm so glad I did. It works really fast (instantly, really) and is so far very accurate. It seems well made and is sturdy. I expected more of a cheaply made item and I'm pleasantly surprised that this seems well made, especially for the low price. No batteries needed, which is so great. You don't need instructions - you just stick the probe into the bottom of your soil and it tells you the moisture content. You need to know the needs of each plant and water or not water based on the reading. The outer box comes with a guide on watering requirements for a large variety of plants, which would very helpful for beginners, but I know what each of my plants needs are, so I tossed the box. The probe is really long, so I'm happy about that feature. The probe is stainless and seems very durable. For $10, this is a must have if you are a plant owner. I wish I hadn't waited so long to pick this up!
Review: Very helpful gadgets! - These are exactly what I was hoping to find. They work perfectly, my plants look healthier now that I am watering them properly. They arrived quickly and at an excellent price. Would definitely recommend!

## Features

- Trusted Since 2015: Become one of the many plant lovers who rely on the proven accuracy of XLUX. Established in 2015, our soil moisture meter has earned over 60,000+ verified ratings for its consistent performance. While many many newer brands come and go, we provide the long-term reliability and quality that American households have trusted for over a decade.
- Take the guesswork out of watering: While your eyes and fingers can only determine the moisture level of the soil surface, the XLUX meter tells you exactly what’s happening deep inside your pot or garden. Our high-sensitivity probe reaches the root zone where it matters most, requiring no batteries or charging—simply insert for an immediate, real-time reading to help your plants stay healthy and vibrant.
- Clear & Easy-to-Read Display: Perfect for beginners and expert gardeners alike. The large, color-coded dial features 10 distinct scales (Dry-Moist-Wet), making it incredibly simple to know exactly when to water. From lush Monsteras to tall Fiddle Leaf Figs, you’ll get the clarity you need at a single glance, ensuring every plant gets the precise care it deserves.
- Slim Single-Probe: Protects Delicate Roots: Protect your plants' health. Unlike bulky dual-probe testers or thick-diameter sensors that can tear and stress sensitive root systems, our sleek, slim-needle design slides smoothly into various soil types. It delivers reliable moisture data with minimal soil displacement, keeping your plants’ delicate roots safe and undisturbed while you monitor their hydration.
- Pristine Condition & Essential Care: To ensure you receive a factory-fresh instrument, each XLUX meter includes a custom anti-abrasion protective sleeve. This inner liner prevents micro-scratches during transit, maintaining the integrity of the 304 stainless steel probe. Usage Tips: 1. Soil Use Only (no liquids). 2. Temporary Test: Insert, read, and remove within 5 minutes. 3. Maintenance: Always wipe the probe clean and store it in its protective sleeve after use.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plant saver!
*by K***R on May 14, 2026*

A very simple, basic product. No electronics, no moving parts. Just stick the metal rod into the plant soil (I usually check in two or three different spots) and it tells you on the dial how dry or moist the soil is. Some plants don't like the soil to ever get dry, other plants should definitely be allowed to dry out before being watered, so you need to know about your particular plant to fully benefit from this product. This moisture meter does prevent overwatering (which is a frequent cause of root rot and plant death). My only negative note is that the meter seems a bit fragile: I dropped one on the floor and although it looked fine, it stopped working (it would always read totally "dry"). I think the probe got disconnected from the meter inside the plastic top as a result of the impact sustained when it hit the floor. That's why I bought a second one.
