Review: Works Great! - This is the second I have bought.
Review: Great product! Inexpensive and works good - Used this to make a storage unit for hardware that spins. Hardware probably weighed between 150-200 pounds, My unit worked smooth right out of the package. I probably should have lubricated tbe ball bearings, but it worked fine without lube. Perhaps a little noisy, which probably could have been reduced with some grease, but didn't really matter for my application. I was concerned about the bad reviews that it didn't spin, or the ball bearings fell out. Looking at how it is constructed,, it is held together with a lip around the outside perimeter that is formed from the steel. I could easily see that being a problem if the lip is compressed too much, it wouldn't spin, or not enough the ball bearings would fall out. Mine was perfect though. I suspect that the people who had problems could adjust the lip a bit to solve their problem if they had some basic mechanics or metalworking skills. I would agree that things should work properly as supplied, But if you want to save money, sometimes you have to take a chance and be willing to put up with a little aggravation. But it looks like I was in the majority of people who didn't seem to have a problem!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Folks - does this unit come apart when lifted, or are the pieces attached permanently? Considering using it as a swivel base for chair.**
A: From what I recall, it doesn't come apart when lifted. The bottom piece of sheet metal is curled over the top piece so the ball bearings are captured and it won't come apart. Should work fine for a swivel base.

**Q: anyone us this as a human turntable? looking to make a 24-36" spinning stand out of it**
A: Yes. That is exactly why I bought this turntable. It actually works more smoothly with a bit of weight on it. Mine has a 30 inch top made from 3/4" thick OSB manufactured as subfloor sheeting. I cut it out with a reciprocating saw, but a router on a string pinned to the center of the circle would make a smoother cut if you choose to make your own. I was not confident the pre-cut, round, pine board would be sturdy enough to support a person without cracking along the grain. I also painted mine green with a can of Krylon spray paint... not quite chromakey green but close enough (importantly, uniform color and non-reflective finish).

**Q: Is it 12" or not? I want to use on something that is 14" in diameter so 12" would be perfect but in "Product Dimensions" it says 0.5"x13.8"x15"**
A: The outside diameter is 12" exact.

**Q: Can this be used for a 36 inch diameter turntable? If not then what is the ideal sized bearing that I should buy?**
A: I think the diameter is ok, but it is related to the weight of the turntable and the weight that the turntable is going to carry on, we are using it in our living room to put the snacks in top of it when we have friends around.Hope my answer help in any way

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Money well spent
*by N***~ on January 2, 2014*

I wanted to build a large Lazy Susan for my table for gaming nights (board games/card games often required you to read text and it's very annoying to have the cards upside-down or side-ways to some of the players who sit around the table). After looking at buying a pre-built one, I figured I'd save a few dollars, build my own, and have it just the way I wanted. This bearing seems to be overkill for such a task, but I liked the overall size of 12", so I went with it it. I got it in, unpackaged it. A downside is no screws provided. I glanced at the directions, but it wasn't hard to figure out for yourself. I went to the local hardware store and bought a 23.75" round wooden platform. I brought it home, found center, drew a 12" circle, and threw this on. I Found 4x screws I had laying around and attached through the provided hole on the bottom of the bearing. I turned it over and invited over my friends. Despite having no bottom and it simply sat on the bearing for the table, the near 24" slab of wood took a lot of force to tip over. It rolled pretty smooth the whole night. Looking down in it, it seems there is a light coating of grease included on the bearings, though just a touch noisy. Ultimately, I think I will make a dedicated table with a revolving center using this bearing as I have good faith that this thing is solid and will last a long time.
