**Q: What's the specified accuracy of this thermometer?**
A: Per NSF guidelines, the accuracy of this product is +/- 5F.

**Q: The ad for this kitchenaid 3-in dial oven thermometer claims it is very accurate.  how accurate is this thermometer? in plus/minus degrees?**
A: I bought it because my oven temp is off as much as 15 degrees.  Baking is better since we use it.

**Q: Can it be used for chicken or fisj**
A: Yes. There is a chicken setting printed on the face. I haven't used it for fish as I just cook fish without a thermometer. If u know what temp you want you can put it in.

**Q: Can use it to check chicken being fried in oil?**
A: I would look at the dial: 120 to 200 F. I would use it out of 330 degree oil, not while it's cooking. I would simply say: No you can't *

The KitchenAid 3 is the best oven thermometer I’ve owned. It’s large size is perfect and the stand/hook is a clever design. All in all, I highly recommend this thermometer.

My current rental has an oven that appears to have been built sometime between 1960 and today. It has no timer, no digital display whatsoever no preheat notification, nothing. Just a few knobs and that’s it. Trying to cook for the first month or two was difficult as I never knew whether the oven was at the temperature I needed to be considering the inaccuracy of the oven dial. This is a very simple solution to that problem. As far as I can tell, this is an accurate internal gauge that improves the functionality of my oven. It’s small enough not to be an issue while having a very simple design that makes it incredibly easy to use. Just clamp it on to one of your oven racks and let it do its thing. It’s been many months and I’ve never even had to clean the thing as it stays enough out of the way to avoid any food splatter.
