It works systemically , so you must use it up to two or three weeks to see very clear skin. If you have insurance, it’s a copay, like mine. If not, don’t bother, because it is extremely expensive (3-6 hundred dollars) RX wise. I had severe acne (adult onset acne) and researched for something to help because all the other crap (medications, benzaclin, blah blah blah) was not working.
