The top unscrews to add the beans, it holds a couple of tablespoons at a time. On the bottom side is a switch that allows you to change how fine or coarse you want to grind the beans. This can also be used to grind herbs, I’ve used it to grind fresh rosemary. It’s easy to clean as it comes apart into 3 pieces. It’s small enough to take with you when traveling but large enough to grind a substantial amount of beans or herbs.
