Review: Actual Sine Wave Output - Can Power a UPS - I purchased a slightly cheaper 1000W modified sine wave inverter, while this was fine for running my refrigerator, I was unable to power my Cyberpower UPS. The device was not able to correct for the square wave output of the cheaper inverter and did not deliver a clean output to my networking equipment. Further research lead me to sine wave inverters such as the BESTEK. This unit was partically attractive because it was cheaper than other inverters and had a battery clip (For quick connection to a car battery). I plan on using this to power my refrigerator, UPS, and possibly some lights when experiencing a power loss for more than an hour. I was able to power everything without any problems. The unit itself outputs around 115-116V with around 12.5V input, and slightly higher 117-119V at around 14V input when my car is running. The voltage measured at a consistent 60.5Hz, which is slightly high but shouldn't matter much if isolated from the grid. It doesn't seem to make much noise but I'm also using it in the engine bay of my car so it doesn't matter much. I feel as though the intentions of this small inverter is to leave it in a car and quickly connect it to the battery when needed. I would STRONGLY recommend also having a second car and jumper cables or a small USB jump starter in case the battery runs low. Every battery has different capacities so for short outages, you won't need to keep the car running, but for longer outages I would start the car for a period of time every few hours. My car struggled a bit to start with the inverter connected under load, so disconnect it first before starting the car. If anyone is interested, I am using this inverter to power a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD. My networking gear includes a PC tower running pfSense as a router, a file server running Unraid which also runs a Unifi controller, a Netgear switch, Netgear CM600 cable modem, and a POE injector for my Unifi AP. The UPS lasts about an hour under a 150W load, which is enough time for me to hook up the inverter. Everything seems to run off the inverter fine. Since most modern devices won't run off of a modified sine wave inverter (Or will run, but may actually get damaged from the "dirty" power), this is worth the money. 1000W is enough to at least run a refrigerator and networking gear (Usually internet will work when a cable modem is powered, even during an outage). I will be keeping this in my car for road trips too, it should be enough to power all mobile devices and more.
Review: Great inverter - I had been wanting a bigger pure sine inverter to run my electronics. I also have a couple Bestek 300w pure sine inverters and they've been good, so it was a no brainer. Build quality is nice as expected, and the display showing battery level and wattage is nice to have. No surprises here, it works great, I've tested it up to ~500w and it didn't skip a beat. My only minor complaints are that I wish the battery voltage part of the display was a little bigger and I wish it had a low voltage alarm like a lot of other inverters do. In testing I kinda forgot about it for a while and just when I noticed the voltage was dipping around 10v with a little higher load than average, it shut down. No harm done and I usually pay more attention when running off battery but it would have been nice to get a warning.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Which circuit breaker would you recommend to protect a car battery? I'm thinking 150A.**
A: 12V x 150A = 1,800W. That inverter provides 1,200W at most (and then only for a moment) so a 100A fuse would be 20% higher than its continuous 1,000W power rating and give enough headroom for conversion efficiency losses and other variables. BTW, make sure you use BIG DC cables.

**Q: Usb ports stopped charging iphones and ipads. tried different cords. non-apple usb devices still charge. any idea what the problem is?**
A: "Apple doesn't allow"? Hogwash. I've been using non-Apple chargers and cords for ten years or more--dozens of different combinations. No problems with good quality ones.

But not all cheap cords work. Look for a cord that's labeled "MFI" (made for iPhone)--those are certified by Apple to work properly. Not that they are the only ones that will, but they're a sure bet.

Anker chargers and cords are also safe bets, in my experience. Just stay away from the cheap plastic cords and chargers sold at the checkout counter in convenience stores. The cords may or may not work, and some of the cheap chargers can actually be dangerous fire hazards.

**Q: Can I use it with a 110v vacuum?**
A: Very likely not. Traditional vacuums - the kind that are so loud they scare the cats - use a very large amount of juice (near the 15-amp limit of the outlet, so they'd approach 1800 watts), but you use it over a short time, so it doesn't really affect your power bill like an air conditioner (that uses a lot of juice over a long period). You ought to just get a modern lithium battery-powered vacuum. They run long enough and are darn near just as powerful as the wall-powered ones, and cost around as much as this inverter does.

**Q: Is the power button a physical push in & push off switch? If not, is there a small amount of power used when unit is off if switch is not mechanical?**
A: When on, It uses 2 amps. I'm measuring 0.5 when off. Which is bad news in my opinion. Compared to my harborfreight 2kw which only uses 1.2A when on and 0.5 when off.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great unit! Inadequate cables.
*by C***S on February 19, 2023*

This thing spits out a ton of clean current and does so for hours without breaking a sweat. After unboxing, I hooked it up to my 100ah lifepo4 12v battery and immediately tried plugging in my gaming PC. Running Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it pulled around 580 watts and ran just fine, like it was plugged into the wall. I then tried plugging in a small room heater. It ran on high, med, and low no problem, but it was pulling over 1300 watts on high, so I kept it on low which pulled around 800 watts. After 10 mins on the low heater setting, the 8awg cables that came bundled with the unit started getting uncomfortably warm. I was a little unnerved, so I took them off and put on some 4awg cables and those ran much cooler at the power levels that this unit would be pushing. 4awg cables are what should have been bundled with this inverter! But the unit itself is an unexpectedly solid workhorse so I'm not too disappointed.
