It's only been a few days since I purchased this, and the plastic cap had already snapped off and this was just after a simple pick up. I only used this for the workplace and home, too. That then leads to the other reality that makes me say this is more of a container than a bottle. It is large and unwieldy without any handles of any kind and not light when you add 64 ounces of water.So if you were looking for a device to keep your beverages cold for a long time and you don't mind pouring the beverages out into something you can easily drink from this will work for you. Since i was a bit skeptical about the functionality of this bottle, i filled it up with water and ice, chilled it couple of hours, then left it outside Saturday and brought it back in Sunday evening, the water was cold not room temperature but actually cold. I gave it to my husband who works as a landscaper and its out on the sun all day, basically hisbonly complaint was... the bottle is too small ( i got him the 64 oz) he said the water tasted great and it was cold.
