My hearing is declining from the loud motor with all the smoothies over the years. Recently bought a stainless steel pitcher container which fits on the 750 and I think it helps a little to muffled the sound. The quiet one is 64 decibels so I plan on buying it. Only the Stainless steel pitcher will not fit on the Quiet One per vitamix. **Q: can it use for household or only commercial?** A: Commercial. If you use for household, which some people did, you may gamble for your money which means, 1. The blender fails or parts are not working. 2. The warranty is shorter (especially Vitamix's commercial, 1 year on whole thing (parts, labor, motor), then remaining 2 years on parts and labor, while the motor is for a full 3 years). 3. Even if you want a quiet blender for your home at this price, I recommend the Blendtec Pro 800, otherwise you would waste lots of money should you use it in a residential setting. For my business, the Quiet One was not worth my money as we spent more than 3000 just to recover jars and parts after it broke past warranty.If you use it for business, better luck, otherwise you may waste quite a lot of money. It is not a food processor and is nor designed to make soups. The machine has 6 individual preset programs depending on the density of the drinks. The #1 button is for thin drinks and runs approximately 15 seconds. The #6 program runs for approximately 30 seconds for those thicker drinks.
