I've tried these powders before. they are all nasty, gritty, powdery concoctions that I consume because, as an herbalist, I know the American diet doesn't provide enough nutrients. I fully expected this to be the same.I peeled off the safety film and opened the container and just as I thought, there was a green powdery substance inside swirling up in the vacuum of air that is caused by removing the lid. It made my stomach kind of tense up in anticipation of the dreaded smell and taste. (I know, as an herbalist I should not think spirulina smells bad but it's really not very appetizing!)I cautiously breathed in and was pleasantly surprised. It didn't pretend to be berry flavored or chocolate or any other gut wrenching substituting and masking flavor.It didn't pretend to be anything! It smelled of ACTUAL vegetables and herbs...maybe a nice seasoning for soup or a sauce. "Hmmm, this isn't bad, but it must taste horrible".I fished around for the scoop in the fluffy powder and pulled it out and said, "Oh...it's bigger than the one in my other green powder. Ugh, I have to take more of it!!!" To be fair it's only minimally larger, but the other stuff is so bad I have to force myself to consume it on a regular basis. I put the scoop back into the container but then my fingers had powder on them from handling the scoop.Wipe it off or taste it? "Ohhh don't TASTE it", I said to myself.But I did and I was pleasantly surprised. I instantly thought this would be good sprinkled into soup or sauces. And the texture was NOT offensive at all.
