I recommend this Avantree HT5006 (earbuds) without reservation, but if wearing earbuds is bothersome, I would just as easily recommend the HT5009 with the wireless headphones. I'm a little hard of hearing so when I am watching a baseball game I have it kinda loud. My wife has excellent hearing so it's a constant up and down with the volume. With the Avantree I can turn the volume down so low on the TV that she can sleep on the couch and I don't bother her one bit. Once in a while you have to turn the TV off and back on to sync the headset so there is no lag in the sound. The sound is very good and the warranty is great. One side quit working after a year or so and I thought that I was out of luck but Janice At Avantree said they are warranted for two years so she replaced the headset no charge. As for the connection problems I had. Make sure the headset is completely charged before starting to connect. I found that the audio setting for your TV must stay on the correct setting. I am using the optical cable, so the unit must stay on the optical setting. Sounds simple but the setting came easily be accidentally changed. What that means is you can be connected but hear no sound. As for function and sound, the unit sounds very good and works well. The 4 stars and not 5, I,m still a little frustrated at times.
