The “lumps and bumps” in the glasses are spaced in a way so that you get a good grip when you pick them up and they are comfortable and sturdy to hold. A friend with very small hands commented that she has a hard time holding bigger glasses but these were great. I looked all over to find them and was thrilled to find them here on Amazon. They are sturdy and have held up well for several months. I actually just ordered 8 more of two different sizes.
