Of course I left out a few steps, like draining the gas tank and doing a pressure test. But since the sender is installed at the TOP of the tank on my boat, gravity is in my favor. This sender unit is American manufactured, which I prefer when I need quality control like an electrical part in a gas tank. This sender has stainless steel rods, comes with a rubber gasket, and replacement stainless steel installation screws that come with a sealing compound at their heads. The rods are plenty-long, and can be cut to size. The only puzzling part is the clamp that holds the float rods together; for some reason its screw is made from regular steel. I would have paid an extra nickel for that to be stainless, too. Install was simple and it matched all the previous holes. Trimming it to the right length was easy as well. Only thing that I couldn't use were the provided screws being they were different thread pitch, but the old ones worked fine.
