The box for the product (with cords and converter pieces to deal with the demands of different countries) is only 6 x 3 x1.6 inches. The product is solidly built and the cord that goes in the wall is heavy duty. The ease of use is first rate. I saw another review, giving one star, of a purchaser (D. Rees) who said "It isn't easy to test this before such a trip....who has a foreign outlet here in the US?...not I." That purchaser reported the unit did not work at all. I have had this problem with a few of mine. Trying giving it a gentle tap on a hard surface. If that doesn’t work you can take it apart and try to get the fan to sit properly in its slot or what I did was remove the fan altogether. Unit will still work but at a reduced power rate. If it overheats. It will just shut down. **Q: I'm in canada and going to barcelona...would this be good for my hair drier? ipad? iphone?** A: iPAD and iPhone for sure. I had an old travel adapter but it would only work with 1 device. This one allows you to plug in 3 devices and also charge phones, etc. on 4 separate USB ports. I had no problems with it at all but I have 2 comments that may help others: 1.) When you plug the adapter in, there is an on-off toggle switch. Be advised that the light indicating that the device is "on" does NOT come on immediately and this could lead you to believe it is not working. Give it a few seconds and the light will turn on. 2.) I found that it seemed better to charge my phone using the wall-plug adapter for the USB chord, basically plugging it in as if you were charging it at home and plugging it into your wall's outlet. The REASON for this - and I could be wrong - is that my iPhone charged very quickly in the USB port, BUT it seemed to run down rather quickly as well, so I tried charging it using my wall-outlet plug that came with the iPhone and the battery seemed to keep its charge longer. (Again, I could be wrong about this conclusion.) BTW, I took my "old" adapter with me just to try it and it did not work at all!
