Review: Perfect replacement for my Zafira Tourer key (3-button) - Needed a new 3-button key remote for my Zafira Tourer. I noticed that "Zafira" wasn't listed in the product description for this item, however, this remote is identical to my existing one, and it works very well. While some other 2-button remotes listed on desertcart did include Zafira in the description, my original key has a 3rd button for the boot and I wanted to keep that option. Fitting: After dismantling the old and new remotes, I first tried swapping the old key into the new remote housing (without removing the locking pin from the blade) but that didn't work, as the old key would not stay in the closed position. I then used a pair of locking pliers (a vice clamp would be easier) to hold the key tightly and knocked the tiny pin out, using a hammer and panel pin (small nail). I fitted my old key blade into the metal 'ring' part of the new key, tapped the pin back in, then fitted the circuit board, release button and key into the new remote housing. The key has a sping that's used to swing it open when you push down the little release button. The spring needs to be 'wound up' before closing the remote case. An easy way to do this is to hold the key in its closed position, against the side of the remote, fit the spring, then put the remote cover in place, making sure the plastic pin on the cover goes into the centre of the spring, but don't snap it shut yet. First rotate the remote cover anti-clockwise one full turn so that it winds the spring up, then snap shut. If you get it right then the key should swing open when you press the release button. If the key swings shut instead, then you wound it the wrong way. :-) Just open the cover and try again. If the key does not swing either direction then the spring did not wind correctly. Try again and make sure the remote cover 'catches' the part of the spring that protrudes, before giving the cover one full turn anti-clockwise (i.e. same direction that the key opens).
Review: Build quality - My daughter’s fiancé’s car key was well beyond its serviceable life. The buttons were now holes, covered with grotty insulation tape. I ordered this Kelay replacement fob to move the original board and gubbins into. The quality of the Kelay fob is excellent, closely matching that of the original Vauxhall fob. The shiny bits are real metal, not chrome over plastic as I’ve seen in the passed. Would I recommend this item? Absolutely yes. For anyone who has never replaced a car fob, here’s hopefully a couple of helpful pointers. Firstly, in a lot of cases (definitely Vauxhall), your original fob will have been ‘high frequency’ welded together. This means you will not be able to just pop it apart and take the circuit board out, you will need to carefully cut around the seams to open it. It’s quite difficult and you definitely need to watch your fingers. Just take your time. Check out YouTube for some helpful videos. The great news is that the Kelay fob just pops open and clicks back together. Secondly, you’ll need to drift out the very small ‘roll pin’ that holds your physical entrance key to the old fob. I use a panel pin nail for this. Do the same with your new fob and fit your old key to it and tap the ‘roll pin’ back in. Good luck and just take your time. Remember, it’s cheaper than a £200 replacement Dealer key.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Could this be compatible with a 2002 Vauxhall omega**
A: Omega or astra has old stile key fobs bud, unfortunately it’s not fit.

**Q: is this compatible for vauxhall insignia 2017?**
A: I've got a 2015 and it matched mine if the buttons on the original key is the same then it should,, but will say that if you buy it,, have a small file at hand,, the small pin that you knock out to get your key part out it will not be the same size as the replacement,, you will have to use the small pin you knock out of the blank one and there is a small Grove you will have to file down just a small bit to knock in the new pin.

**Q: Is this compatible with astra gtc 2012**
A: Yes its compatible with all opals

**Q: Will it fit vauxhall corsa eco 2014**
A: Yes
