## Description

Product description

Review: With this device, get Superb HDMI Audio, much better than headphones jack audio! - I recently started using my Dell G7 Gaming laptop to DJ with. Being a Windows machine, it has been a journey to learn how to get the best performance for delivering the best and most stable audio performance using Serato DJ Pro. But I noticed when I ran iTunes playlists or other sounds out of the headphone jack into the aux on my DJ board that there was a humming buzz sound I had not noticed before. Had a fantastic support call with Dell technicians who shared with me that the best sound source within my laptop was actually the NDVIA graphics card's "HDMI Audio" and suggested I try an HDMI audio extractor device to get the best audio, far superior than that which the headphone jack on my laptop was able to deliver. I purchased this one from avedio links and tried to use it connected to my 4k monitor and no "HDMI audio" source came up in my Windows settings. I reached out to avedio links for support and they explained to me that the only way I can get "HDMI audio" to come up as a sound output option from my laptop was to plug the HDMI cable into either a television or a monitor with built-in speakers. I thought it couldn't hurt with desertcart Prime's easy return process to go ahead and buy a 27" flatscreen monitor with speakers, I chose the "SANSUI Monitor 27 Inch IPS 100Hz Computer Monitor, USB-C FHD HDR Built-in Speakers" (and so far, I really like it). Sure enough, "HDMI Audio" because a sound source option in Windows. So I first hooked up my DJ speakers to the stereo output jack on the monitor, and the sound was good, but noticed when I opened up more than one application, unwanted noise would enter the sound. But then I inserted this avedio links HDMI Audio Extractor Splitter, then connected my DJ speakers to the sound output from the splitter, and yes, my tech support friend at Dell was absolutely correct: I finally achieved superb sound output from my computer! I played Billie Eilish "What Was I Made For" because there's plenty of quiet space in that song and her unearthly pure vocals were at least for me a ready-made audio benchmark test for high fidelity audio. And yes, not only was it the best sound I ever experienced coming out of my latpop computer into my DJ speakers, but when I paused the recording, turned the speakers way up along with the computer volume, amazing, amazing, hell yes, finally, no buzz, no hum, ready go from zero noise to Rave Dance Hall Jammin Powerhouse volume, all because I discovered HDMI Sound using a good, high quality HDMI Audio Spliter, and I'm very pleased that avedio links delivered just what I desired in tapping into the full breathtaking sound my NVIDIA graphics card has been waiting to deliver, and grateful for both Dell Computers and avedio links support for helping me to get there!
Review: Works good. - The only one I found that works to split left and right chain a lot of an HDMI signal properly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Bought this, notice it extracts audio but also allows audio to pass thru to TV. Is there anyway to stop that passthru?**
A: Yes, but the device has to be designed to do that. Aside from looking for it as a feature, some of the ones that have selectable audio output formats do it as a side-effect,, for example, some won’t pass audio to the TV when in 5.1 audio mode, but will in other modes.

**Q: The picture shows left and right audio. The description says 3.5mm jack. Which one is it?**
A: The unit I have does not have a 3.5 mm jack. The two RCA jacks provide right and left audio to an amplifier
There is a fiber optic (TOS) link for digital audio and a swithch which selects the audio format

**Q: does this convert 2d video signal into 3d ?**
A: No, this device cannot convert a 2D signal to a 3D signal. It is merely stating that you can run a 3D signal through the box without issues. The Tv, Cable, this box, whatever is driving the display (eg, a disk player.console, or pc), and the content you're trying to stream all have to all support a 3D signal. Movies especially, are hard to find in 3D. The film needs to be recorded with two cameras working simultaneously, like how people use two eyes to make a 3d image of their surroundings. Doing this without two cameras requires someone to guess how close the object should be, a very imperfect science.

--Basic rundown on how 3D works

The marketing is referring to HDMI's ability to carry a stereo-graphic 3D signal. This is used by special tvs to make a 3 dimensional image. It is basically two simultaneous video streams. One goes into the left eye and the other goes into the right (the exact technology that achieves this varies, but it requires special hardware, like special glasses that only allow a frame of video to go through one eye at a time, and alternates at a rate too fast to notice). The two streams would have slight differences in the image that give the illusion of 3D. The same way that your left eye sees slightly different from you right eye. But this requires every chain in the link to support the feature.

**Q: Can you have audio going out the red and white rca along with the tv speakers? my parents cable box can do this and my dad uses headphones.**
A: That depends on your TV.
Generally yea if your TV has an hdmi output or you use a cable box / DVR and put this between the box and the TV.
Some (Samsung) tv's disable speakers when the External Speaker option is selected in the menu.
If you want the TV speakers on, using this hdmi should allow you to use both.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Device!!
*by J***S on January 21, 2026*

Wow!! This device has saved the day and has saved me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary A/V receiver upgrades. I have an old Denon receiver that still works great and I’ve been wanting to cut the cable chord forever that my receiver requires old audio connections (red white left & right) in order to get 5.1 surround. I plugged in a Xumo box to this audio extractor and solved my surround sound issue from this video source. It’s well built and feels super sturdy. Highly recommend this audio extractor splitter.
