It is a motion sensor, so it did pick up the Racoon, Turkeys, Deer, and an occasional Bear. I installed this alarm 100 yards down the driveway. It will only pick up moving vehicles as it is a magnetic sensor. It was very easy to set up with the receiver unit I already owned. Noteworthy was the email support and advice I had from Dakota.
