The item came quickly, and was the right color (my interior trim is brown, not black. Not as heavy or solid feeling as the one it was replacing, but for the price, it can’t be beat. Installation of this new gear shift was very easy. But getting the old one off was very difficult. Watch several YouTube videos. I ended up following these steps:1) removed the base plate (put car in neutral so you can get the base plate up over the gear shift)2) pulled base plate over gear shift to see underside where leather collar is connected to gear shift - cut the zip tie3) after trying to twist off the silver base collar at the bottom of the gear shift, I very cautiously and reluctantly broke the plastic piece apart with a flat head screw driver to remove it4) putting car back into park, I firmly pulled up on broken gear shift to remove it5) I simply installed to new shifter by placing it on the gear shaft and pushing down firmly6) in reverse order, I positioned the underside of the leather sleeve around the base of the new collar, used a zip tie (which I supplied) to secure it in place, then pulled the base plate down over the gear shift, and snapped it back into place. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked on my 2012 Buick Verano *by L***N on October 7, 2021* Matches interior well enough, feels 90% like the original, slight wiggle but seemed to be held on well after checking by pulling up on it. Popped on easy, only took about 10 minutes start to finish to swap and 9 of that was spent getting the off the bottom of the old one in order to access the c pin that held it on. Overall happy with purchase, cheap quick fix for a stupid, simple, but more than inconvenient problem. ### ⭐ Did not fit Jetta *by A***E on May 26, 2025* This claims to fit 2008 VW Jetta but it does not. Button needs to be vertical and the gear shift knob button was horizontal.
