I used another popular brand's nail clippers with attached magnifying glass on my infant son and punched him, leaving him with a small red blister that didn't seem to bother him at all, and me with a phobia of trimming his nails. After slowly filing for a few weeks and putting him in mittens far longer than the avg mom does, a friend told me about these nail scissors. Yes, it's weird and not exactly comforting that the packaging is all in Chinese. BUT, these scissors are great. I trim my baby's nails now without trouble. They are blunt and thin and it's easy to snip several tiny bits off of each nail. Don't try to snip trim the entire length off at once, just do several little snips per nail. I ordered the 0-3 month size for my 2 month old and they were teeny tiny. Returned them for the 3+ month size and they were fine. I would even start with the 3+ size for a newborn.
