Before using it the first time I filled it half with ice, half with tap water and left it in my garage, which stays pretty warm in the summer. After 72 hours it was still 1/8 full of ice and the water was ice cold. My real world usage has been as good-- even sitting in a hot car all day or at the beach the water stays ice cold. The handle feels solid, the cap seals tight and the push button mechanism works well and doesn't leak. The black finish looks good, but I do wish it had a rubberized/silicone bottom instead of hard plastic. Washing hasn't been an issue, but since I only use it for cold water I just rinse it out when finished and let it air dry. This has been better than I expected. I just wish they made a 1 gallon size as well. 68 oz just isn't enough water for 2 days. Water is heated in a tea kettle and transfered to the carafe. It will keep the water HOT for 12 to 14 hrs. It does pour slowly but I can live with that. It replaced an older carafe that had stopped sealing properly.
