## Description

Asphalt Crack Repair sealing systems are specially formulated, self-adhering rubberized asphalt strip materials that are easy to place over clean, dry cracks and joints. When heated melts and forms a permanent bond on any asphalt, concrete or masonry pavement surface. The neat, waterproof seal can be immediately top coated with seal coating if required. EWT Joint is designed to resist water penetration into a seam/crack. But a crack must be filled prior to “overbanding”. Contractors on jobs where there is minimal cracking will cut Joint into strips and melt it into the crack before overbanding. Sand is ok but a bit unstable. It can be enhanced by mixing sand with a sealcoating emulsion and making it a paste and troweling it into the cracks.

Review: Permanent patch - This tape worked great on some seams that are in my driveway because of installation error. I patched them every year but the kept seams coming back. This was wide enough to feather the patch and at this point the seams are gone. The tape has worn to the point that it matches the asphalt well This is the best patch I ever used. Easy to apply also.
Review: Best solution so far - I tried a roll of the 1 inch and a roll of the 2 inch. I prefer the 2 inch because it is easier to cover a crooked crack with it. On the other hand the 1 inch melted faster. If I need to reapply it I will use the 2 inch. My cracks open to about a half inch wide in freezing weather and close to a hairline when the asphalt is warmer. When I use latex filler it always forms a crack when it gets cold. This stuff hasn’t so far but I noticed that it gets very soft during warm weather. It gets soft enough to show a footprint but so far hasn’t come off on the shoe. I don’t think I can give it an accurate rating until it has gone through all 4 seasons and I see if it stretches and to see if holds up when I use the snow blower on the driveway next winter.

I tried other tarmac tape and this one is by far much easier to work with for laying out and peeling the paper coating off vs other brands with thin rips too easy plastic while needing to cut rolls apart from sticking to self. This one unrolls super easy, sticks where you want it to go. I rolled it out and peeled the paper as I went and stepped on opposite end to tack it to center of the cracks. This was done in 40F Wisconsin temps also was sunny weather. At first I preheated the cracks but it wasn't necessary. This stuff melts consistently and covers nicely. Also, its basically traffic ready in 5mins and I know this because I was halfway across my 20ft driveway when the mailman came up and drove over what I just got done and didn't mess it up. Prob helps it was 40F and windy out to cool it fast.
