If I was going to use it with it's standard gauge pins supplied I would back them up with a good adhesive. Secondly, I would ease back on the pressure, because you will no doubt badly mark the wood, and then finish it off with some light taps with a hammer and pin sinker. Overall, I would really prefer to do the job with straightforward hammer, lost-head nails and countersink. It would probably be easier. **Q: Can this work on MDF skirting boards** A: I'm sorry to tell you that MDF skirting boards are hardwood and need to be up to at least 32mm nails, which this machine may not be able to drive through.
