The color of the wood is just what i was looking for, not to dark, not to light.Quality:The construction is as i'd hoped/expected for this price: Solid, but not custom craftsmanship either. Let's be realistic, it's under $100, and for that, the construction is very good. The interior is all velour/velvety type material that won't scratch your jewels.Design:Very quaint and cheery, the sides swing out for your hanging necklaces, the drawers open up with varying sections for rings and whatnot, and the top pops open with a little mirror. The mirror seems a bit useless, but hey if you get use out of it then great, if not you can opt to put a picture of your loved one there instead. I also like that it doesn't have a flat base, it stands up off the table a bit, but that's just my personal taste. It does it's job perfect in both aspects...however my only complaint is that the necklace holders in the door are not good for longer necklaces and the magnetic closure in the doors always catch my necklaces as I'm putting them up or taking them out (a lot of my necklaces are more costume than fine metals).
