Review: Great history text supplement - This is a great supplement to my 7th grade world history text. I read the textbook first, then read the corresponding information in the Kingfisher Encyclopedia, which adds extra depth to the textbook information and provides a visual context. It's a nice, heavy book with glossy pages and really good photos and illustrations. I plan to sell most of my curriculum books at the end of this school year, but I think I'll hang on to this book! It also makes an interesting "coffee table" book.

There are lots of neat pictures and each spread contains a small box of the important dates outlined. It is a very good history resource, especially for families using The Well Trained Mind to educate their kids.

This is a great supplement to my 7th grade world history text. I read the textbook first, then read the corresponding information in the Kingfisher Encyclopedia, which adds extra depth to the textbook information and provides a visual context. My son is 8 years old. I bought it for him as a general reference on history. It is great for giving a short and interesting narrative of events. The language is quite advanced for my son so it is best to be available to assist them at his age. The nice thing is that when he is reading a book and it makes a historical reference, he can look it up and get a good understand of what the book is talking about.
