My nails are wide and go down in the corners so I have to be very careful how I cut them. If done incorrectly, I get little points that lead to problems (and ever since a trip to the podiatrist years ago for one that I did not cut correctly, I vowed to be extremely careful so not to have to do that again!) , so regular clippers are out of the question. I did have a cutter I have been using for some time and it has stopped cutting as it has dulled and the last time I used them I had a nail shard ricochet around the bathroom and land in the tub behind me... definitely time to look for something else. Needless to say I bought it right after I used my old cutter and this one looks much more menacing as it has a curved cutter blade and is about 20% larger than my other one. The other night my one nail was just being annoying as I make sure I let them grow out far enough and it was time to cut them... a bit hesitant at first with a new cutter... but after the first cut, it was such a relief as they worked very well. I was able to get down in the corners easily and all went well. So compared to my older cutters, these are definitely better. I do clean them and keep them in the protective head cover (as I do my other cutters ever since I bent one while traveling!).
