I carry it with me always. Marion Woodman is a Crone, a Wise Woman, and a Master Teacher.This book is one of her easier books to read... it is in interview style so you can jump around. She talks a lot about the Crone and The Black Madonna, who I call Big Mama.The Black Madonna is emerging in people’s consciousness. She talks about how she is black and earthy, larger than life, she has a sense of humor, is larger than life, she is Love. She takes in all the orphans and and all our projections. She unifies spirit and matter and is the rainbow bridge between the heart and the mind.She talks about how the Soul tried to get our attention through me body. So we must listen to the messages of our body.She said, how when a person might have asthma and breathing problems before they deal with their mother complex. She said, when they release that their mucous comes out in ropes and they no longer have a asthma, but it moves into the sexual chakra. I wanted to read her work. Where should I start?Everyone in the group recommended that I start with Conscious Femininity. It is a wonderful introduction to the ideas found in her other books. In the interviews that make up Conscious Femininity, Marion Woodman speaks about an emerging feminine consciousness that will change the face of our patriarchal society, about relationships, about addiction, and about the masculine and feminine energies within each of us.Conscious Femininity, because of its interview format, gave me a quick glance at several different facets of Marion Woodman's work. After reading Conscious Femininity, I was able to decide which of her other books I wanted to read next. I have since read most of them. (The writing in Marion's books is extraordinarily rich -- sometimes I'll just read one paragraph and then stop to think about what she has said -- so reading any book of hers takes me a long time.)
