This system will pull out most if not all the calcium and replace it with salt. The Yarn Descaler installed after the saltwater system won’t have anything to act upon. In our opinion salt in the water means trading one nasty side effect for another. Excess salt is highly corrosive and not so good for the body. 2. The YARNA Descaler is installed first. The water reaches the installation point and the electric field converts the calcium into a different form of calcium that will not adhere to anything (the pipes, appliances, etc). You still have calcium and magnesium in the water. Generally, calcium in the water is considered healthy. However, you eliminate all the negative side effects that the untreated minerals have on the pipes. Also, in this case, the now treated calcium (although harmless) will enter the saltwater softener and the same replacement process takes place. You’ll end up with salt in the water. This is why our recommendation is to chose one of them and NOT have both working. Depending on what you want/need I strongly suggest installing only one of the two. If you want no minerals in the water then salt systems are the way to go. If you want to eliminate the nasty side-effects of calcium, Yarna will do that.
