These ssd drives are very thin, much thinner than SATA equivalents. For PCIe slots you need an adaptor, the motherboard needs a specific M.2 slot. You will see 2242 devices and 2280 or similar for different lengths of SSD (42mm or 80mm), there should be a screw in the motherboard at the right length from the slot to hold this drive securely in place.
