From seeing how it fits him, I would guess that any child between 5 and 13 year old would use the medium/small and anyone older should go for the large. It is very adjustable so it fits a wide range of head sizes. **Q: Is it adjustable?** A: Yes it is adjustable. Two velcro straps in the back, one on each side allow you to comfort fit the head gear. **Q: Could we use this on children that play competitive, travel soccer, but HAVE NOT had a concussion? Would it help at all to prevent one from happening** A: You just described the exact situation with several girls (including my own daughter) on her competitive travel team. He loves it because it looks sporty and of he falls he has some head protection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Header? Bring it *by S***M on August 16, 2016* My daughter has played soccer since she was about 4 years old. She has a passion for the sport and plays it every second she has. She is now 14 and plays it all the time. With soccer comes injuries. One injury I don't want her to have is a concussion. I want to protect her neck and head as much as possible so I thought I would get this for her to use. She is big on heading the ball and for this reason, I thought this would be good. I got it in and she tried it on. It fits really good on her head. I has a lot of padding around it. It is bulky to wear. She doesn't like it for that reason but it does offer great protection. I have other players on the team that do wear this and they wear it all the time. I attended a league meeting where they brought up the fact that the Centers for Disease Control had a online training program for concussion awareness [...]and that it was going to be something that coaches and league officials were going to have to have to take in the near future. I went home and ran across some information from a British Journal of Sports Medicine from 2005 - that concluded that protective headgear made it 3.5x less likely to have a concussion from playing soccer if this headgear was worn. That was enough for me - I checked out the various brands, styles and then read the reviews. I ended up ordering the Full90 Premier for my 10 year old. She has had it for about 2 months and has worn it since it arrived. I was concerned that if her teammates made fun of it - that she would not wear it. That has not happened, and she has worn it for Rec, Club and indoor. She does get approached by parents on her teams and opposing teams who are interested in what it is, and they want info for ordering when they see it up close.The Premier - at least the newer model with the logo on the botton larger front panel - fits very well on her head. It has some moisture wicking capability, has a criss-cross style back on it that helps keep it in place, and has Velcro adjustable tabs on the back to customize the fit. It is not obtrusive and it is very lightweight. People have thought that it was nothing more than a 'sportier' headband.Just watched a 'Rock Center' NBC show about the damage that can occur from head injuries sustained by girls in soccer, so I am sure that more people will be ordering these and they will be popping up on a field near you soon. The more I talk to people on the sidelines and at league meetings - the more kids I hear about that have sustained concussions before they even reach HS. Someone remarked - they have to wear shin guards to protect their shins, but they do not have to wear anything to protect their heads. Seems to make sense to me.
