**Q: are the plates really not teflon?  i know the description says Ceramic, just wondering if anyone that owns it can confirm that its not teflon.**
A: It looks like iron and it doesn't look like ceramic the plates are not ceramic it looks painted with teflon. I scratched the side and it showed metal. It looks like it was painted with teflon.
