Does it require ground if installed on wood or plastic?** A: The vehicle body would still work as an effective ground plane to mount to an aluminum or plastic roof. If you drive with this on your car, it will most likely fall over from the wind. However, the signal performance is excellent—as for range, I have been able to get out of the state and even out of the country using repeaters with this antenna!
