Review: Magnet is very weak - Easy to install. Threading fit is great and includes a spring washer if you want to really tighten it down to your walkie. Transmits and receives just fine. Price is great. I got 2 for US $15.99. The only downer is the magnet which is insanely weak in this age where rare earth coin magnets can be had for 10 cents each when bought in bulk. For automotive application, this antenna would fall down at the slightest wind, vibration or movement without a separate purchase and use of a rare earth coin sized magnet.

**Q: If i mount the antenna on my roof rack does it have to be grounded? Does it require ground if installed on wood or plastic?**
A: The vehicle body would still work as an effective ground plane to mount to an aluminum or plastic roof. As for completely wood, plastic or fiberglass, it may work but will not be as effective without a ground plane to reflect off of.

**Q: What is the maximum watts it can handle?**
A: 10 watts realistically. 75? No way! Take a look at other antennas of this size. The cable alone cannot handle more than 10 to 15 watts.

**Q: Will this work for a tyt th-uv8000d?**
A: It will work, BUT it needs an adapter. The TH-UV8000D antenna uses an SMA male connector, but the cable on this antenna is SMA female. You would need an SMA-F to SMA-F adapter, i.e. https://amzn.com/B00VL6OCE2

**Q: How many feet of cable?**
A: It states 10 feet in the ad.

I give it five stars for the price to performance ratio. I’m using this antenna for receive only with a Baofeng radio. It is superior to using a 17” Nagoya whip antenna. I’ve done back to back tests and the Bingfu picks up more signals and further away. It’s surprising how good it is. As many have noted, the magnet base is not strong enough for high speed highway use. They do include a 3M adhesive disc for more permanent mount. So five stars for performance and value. Just be aware of the weaker magnet base.
