The directions ALSO say not to put the pan on high heat - do that as well because i dont want to spend 5 minutes making popcorn. On high heat, it takes me about 2-3 minutes to make the popcorn which is about double the time in the microwave...but the popcorn is about double the nutrition than bagged store bought, so i think it equals out. The pan is super light weight so im pretty sure its aluminum, but that doesnt bother me.it is easy to clean, but i honestly dont clean it often because im ONLY making popcorn in it. Because of how the mechanisms work, I may be able to make candied nuts in this, but I wouldn't buy this for that...
