It is a type of flimsier board but not sure what it is exactly. I've had it almost a month and my daughter hasn't torn it up yet, she is pretty hard on her toys so if there was an issue with it I would have noticed by now. The frame itself is all wood no particle board so if you are worried about stability it's pretty sturdy **Q: Is the wood sealed?** A: It has some paint and something that appears like clear vinyl over the surface of the wood. Nicer quality than I expected. Facilissimo montarla: ogni pezzo della casa ha un numero incollato che è riportato nelle istruzioni in ordine di montaggio.Nella confezione ci sono le viti necessarie per il montaggio ognuna segnalata da una lettera dell'alfabeto. We gifted it to our 5 year old a few weeks ago and she loves it too. It’s just the right size for her and perfect for her dolls. This house was super easy to install, I did it alone. Our other kidkraft dollhouse our 11 year old has was a nightmare to put together, so I for sure have a reference point. It comes with super cute furniture, though it is a bit plain. The best part is I only paid 61.00 plus tax for it used in excellent condition! I would say this is a great option to save a lot of money on toys your kids will love that are generally more expensive.
