Smaller fluid tip and needle produce much better results along with using optional reducer at 4-1-1. Still fills quite well, much easier to sand, less shrinkage and settling when mixing at this ratio. 3-4 coats, proper flash time between. Use a close tight overlap spray technique for a flat smooth finish **Q: is this a dtm primer** A: For best results, after proper cleaning of the bare metal, apply one coat of an etching primer, wait 15 minutes, then apply your urethane primer. Even tho most paint manufacturers say their Urethane primer can go directly to the metal, you will achieve far better adhesion with one medium coat of an etching primer or an approved etching solution. It is a very low cost insurance for a long lasting substrate. Your paint job is only as good as the foundation underneath! **Q: Can you spray paint directly over this primer? (base coat or single stage)** A: Yes you can but sand it first...400 for solid paint 600 for metallic paint **Q: Can this be applied on bare metal, like a whole panel?** A: I did and had no problem but they recommend I think they call it self etching primer for bare metal.
