The one complaint I have is that I can’t seem to find them in open stock here in the US. In any event, these are great paints and I’m pleased with what I’m able to produce - however, I believe my painting abilities leave room for a lot of improvement! I also like to do some Sumi-e painting occasionally - needless to say these paints work well for this application as well as western-style paintings. I’ve attached a quick painting of a cattleya blooming in a local conservatory, I had trouble capturing the fine tendrils of the Spanish Moss in the background. This was painted on Arches cold-pressed 140-lb. watercolor paper. I also have a number of other Kissoh watercolors and I’m pleased with all of them. They compare very well with the Kuretake, Boku-Uno, Yasutomo and Akashiya line that I also have. I purchased a 48 set of these paints over a year or two ago and this set of 72 was not available here on Amazon, I would like to have it now but as far as any difference, there is none, they are the same. The numbering system maybe different but if I remember correctly they were identical and same goes for the names, the Japanese writing were the same for identical colors when I compared them with my friends set Get them if you can these are lovely paints. A good assortment of transparent/semi-transparent and opaque/semi-opaque. **Q: is this watercolour lightfast?** A: So far as My experience in art has shown me, no color is lightfast- that said, these colors are bright and blend well without becoming muddy. I do not varnish nor use fixatives - the finish is like eggshell.
