When I arrived I was hit with unexpected culture shock and found the book very helpful in remembering the little things, like how to buy tickets for the underground. The only suggestion I found to be less helpful was buying a money belt, which I dragged all over Germany and never used. It did make me extra security conscious, however, so even that paid off to a degree. I couldn't get into any of the recommended hotels, but the restaurant recommendations were spot on, even two years later. If you're going to Germany, but this book.
