If you notice that you're about to drive through a cloud of smoke or some grass clippings scattered on the roadway or a dead skunk or whatever then hit the recirculate air button immediately. Recirculate cuts off all outside air from being pulled into the cabin. That's the absolute best way to eliminate or prevent a foul odor from the outside from coming into your vehicle.To demonstrate this feature in a pleasant way, drive into a touchless carwash with your recirculate air feature turned on. As the trifoam soap begins to spray and foam on your car, turn recirculate off. A pleasant clean, fruity, and soapy odor will fill the cabin immediately as the cabin air system resumes pulling in air from the exterior of your vehicle.That being said, the filter is cheap and it seems to do the job. I drove 50,000 miles before my first cabin air filter change on the original cabin air filter that came with my Charger when I bought it new in 2014. These filters last longer than you think. Using recirculate often also reduces the build up of contaminants in your filter - especially during pollen season. This filter is an easy do it yourself replacement that will save you a bunch of money. If the carbon happens to take a few specks of something out of the air then that's just an added bonus. That being said, don't forget that it's cheap for a reason. It's a knockoff that's made overseas and hopefully the design is good enough to replicate OEM MOPAR performance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clean and clear - so good I had a write a review *by K***. on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 29, 2016* Having used MOPAR air filters on my 2013 charger the last 8 months, something seems nice about this filter. After replacing my last dirty one, this one literally smells 'new' (in a good way). The inside air smells fresh and the biggest reason I gave it a 5 star is because my nose is VERY sensitive to allergens and diesel gas funk from trucks. This filter does a great job, well, filtering junk from going into my cabin. In front of a large F350 truck that ripped a massive fog of soot from its exhaust, I could barely smell it. It didn't completely take the smell out but compared to my factory air filter in similar situations, I'd say the smell was reduced 80%. It also dissipated much faster as it recirculated the air, leaving my cabin fresh again. I kept this filter on my watch list while it was out of stock, and I see why they sell so fast. It's worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Direct Replacement on 12 Challenger RT *by A***4 on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 28, 2018* This was a direct replacement on my 2012 Challenger RT. Install took only 5 mins. The only confusing thing to me was the air flow arrow compared to what the OEM filter said from MOPAR. OEM says top with arrows but this one talked about airflow direction. I figured that the airflow should be pulling from bottom up so installed in that direction. Honestly, I'm not really sure it even makes a difference. My pictures show the old one and the new install instructions.It is a good idea to change these annually, mines has bird feathers and all kinds of crap on it and it was just a year old.
