If you set it up right, it's extremely secure. I've done crazy moves on it. Even my brother who is a body builder and weighs 200 pounds has done spins and tricks and the pole was fine. It is portable but not as portable as I would like as the bars are still pretty long disassembled, but it has to be that way to make the pole stable. My fiance ran at it full speed and it did not come down and he weighs a solid 170.
