## Description

Prism backdrops are 100% Virgin Cotton with a loose weave pattern using thick threads. As a Natural Cotton Product, Prism Backdrops are a Sustainable and Fully Biodegradable option compared to most backdrops made from Polyester.Polyester is used in most backdrops because it is less expensive and reduces wrinkles.Prism backdrops are also made from 150gsm cotton versus industry standard 120gsm cotton. The use of thicker cotton allows for one side of the backdrop to be Flocked creating a soft fuzzy texture.Flocking is a significant cost increase to the product and also increases the pilling affect when washing, but the Flocked side reflects very little light and can lead to deeper, richer colors in photography. We are unaware of any Polyester backdrops which offer a flocked side.

Review: Absolutely perfect, but Don't Forget About Lighting - This thing is huge! I used it sideways because I didn't need the ground/floor to be in the shot. It covered my entire living room wall, not that my living room is big or anything, but nonetheless it was much larger than I needed it to be. 20ft goes a long way. I included a video clip so you can see how the green screen worked out. If you want to see the entire video, search Youtube for Snap-On Light Saber Review. This was my first time using a green screen. I didn't bother buying any lights or stands for the screen. I tacked it directly to the wall, and used a lamp on one side, and a high power work light on the other side. The green screen itself is perfect (although the wrinkles presented a challenge, even after an hour in the drier, the wrinkles were super obvious). So it's not the green screen you choose that is so important. It's the lighting, and distance you are from the screen. This was a learning experience for me. For one, my lighting setup was not adequate, and not even. The work light I used was too bright, and the lamp was not bright enough. Plus with the changing sun light from outside, getting a good key was challenging, especially for my first time. I did a lot of test shots before committing to light positions. On top of that, I was too close to the green screen (about 3 feet). This might have been OK if I had a better light setup, but I did not. So several issues presented themselves. You could see a green cast around my fingers if I moved my hands to the side of my body. Also, the green light was reflecting on to things in my shot. Like anything shiny would turn greenish, and key out in editing. Differences in light across the screen means you have to choose a middle ground color of green to key out and adjust the threshold way out. That results in a lower quality key, that becomes obvious in certain parts. The only light I had on me was a ceiling light, and sun light from outside. On top of all that, my camera stopped working right before I stared this video, so I had to use a cell phone to record the whole thing. Anyway, all that working against me, I still managed to get a pretty decent key for a first timer. I use Adobe Premier, and it made the green screen keying pretty easy even though I made it harder by not having the proper lighting. So if you're deciding whether or not to buy this green screen...BUY IT! It's just a big green cloth (heavy duty like a thick curtain). The more important decisions should be on the type of lights you will need to pull the effect off. I learned a lot in just one video project. So this screen fit my budget perfectly, and since it was so cheap, I have money left over to look for an effective lighting solution for the next project.
Review: Great Green Screen - I have had a couple of other green screens. This one works great and is very good quality. I have read the other reviews, and here is my suggestion regarding the wrinkles & ironing scenario. First, be sure and have your spot where you plan to hang the backdrop ready for the backdrop to hang. Second, have an ironing board set up, with a steam iron ready to go, in a large enough space to accommodate the 6 x 10 backrop as if it was laying flat on the floor. Unpackage the backdrop and throw it in your dryer. Take a spray bottle filled with distilled water and give the entire backdrop a good spraying down as you fluff it and flip it around inside the dryer by hand (if you have a dryer with steam/wrinkle remover capabilities, even better). Set the dryer to medium heat and turn it on for around 15-20 minutes. Remove the backdrop from the dryer as soon as it stops and go straight to the ironing board to put the finishing touches on it with a steam iron. It will be much easier to iron after the dryer scenario. The ironing process is best accomplished with two people as follows . . . The person ironing is on one side of the ironing baord with the un-ironed portion of the backrop cascading down in front of them to the floor and laying in front of their feet (the 6 ft. width laying on the board and the 10 ft. length cascading down to the floor). As they iron, another person is on the other side of the ironing board holding two corners of the 6 ft. width, slowly stepping backwards as the person ironing finishes ironing each section from side to side - keeping the backdrop taught during this entire process. Once the ironing is complete, go straight to the intended location of the backdrop and hang it. I suggest tacking it to a wall if possible. This way you can keep it very taught, which allows for the best chromakey experience. If you must hang it from a rod/stand, then suggest that you have weight fatened at the bottom somehow to take ot any slack in the backdrop to keep it as taught as possible.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding ChromaKey Green Screen!
*by P***K on October 19, 2012*

As someone pretty new to green screen I was pleasantly surprised when I received this 10 X 20 ChromoKey Green Muslin backdrop. First of all the weave is tight and the muslin is quite heavy. So heavy in fact that I've ordered a sturdier frame as mine became difficult to balance under the weight. The color perfect and even - I've read complaints on other reviews that this is isn't true. I would beg to differ and point out that lighting is everything. Well, at least 99% of the battle. By adjusting my constant lighting, over heads and diffusers I can eliminate even the slightest bit of shadow. Muslin of this weight and quality can easily be found at $400 + for this size - but for under $40 ? it's more than an incredible bargain - it's an absolute steal. The Muslin arrived folded and wrapped in thick sealed plastic packed inside a sturdy box, inside an equally sturdy shipping box. Yes, rolled Muslin saves you the trouble of removing wrinkles - however I believe one of the best and most affordable investments you can make for your studio be it your first one or professional is a portable garment steamer. These are inexpensive and have multiple uses. What is more they remove all traces of wrinkles and creases in Muslin is a matter of seconds with just a few swipes. I have a portable home unit by Conair that works beautifully. I believe the cost is somewhere around $40. Professional dry cleaner steamers are available as well but run well over $150 and unless you're pressing shirts on the side in my opinion would be overkill. The quality of stitching on the backdrop is impressive and the sleeve is double stitched for extra security and will fit over any support pole without a single problem. You could easily pay 4-5 times as much and end up with lesser quality. This is an exceptional bargain and be it your nw to green screen or an old hand you're bound to like this backdrop and will find yourself hardpressed to match it anywhere on price and quality - let alone beat it.
