This will allow you to set your own tanks Empty and Full positions and quickly see your tanks water level. Calibration 1. Carefully remove the front clear face from the Tank Gauge to enable access to the moveable Empty and Full indicators. 2. Select an installation site on your tank for the Tank Gauge and mark it. It is preferable that this is a flat area and that once installed, will allow you to view the Tank Gauge face easily. 3. Whilst maintaining the same height and keeping the weight outside of the tank, extend the weight so it is level with the bottom of your tank. Move the red Empty indicator to where the water level indicator is pointing. 4. Lift the weight so it is level with the overflow on your tank and move the green Full indicator to where the water level indicator is pointing. 5. Tank Gauge is now calibrated. * the front clear face. Installing 1. Drill a 1.3″ hole into your tank at the previously marked installation site. 2. Lower the weight through this hole and sit the Tank Gauge on your tank. 3. Using the supplied screws secure the Tank Gauge to your tank. 4. Your Tank Gauge is now installed and ready for use. Review: We took a risk and tried this device which we certainly do not regret. There are many bad review complaining about the guts springing out and after installing this unit, I can understand how this happens. Was easily to install, easy to calibrate, works great for our needs! This is much like setting an old manual clock! What you need to know about the face cover being difficult. The plastic cover is quite right, thin and feels like it may be a bit brittle. It has a small rubber gasket around it just under the outer lip and tiny latching grooves that hold it on well. *What you need to be careful with is don't be too rough and manly when taking the cover off. It can be temperamental but was just fine for us. It was simply to hold up beside the drums and note the position of empty and full from the small black needle that swings back and forth. It was not difficult to carefully move the green (full) and red (empty) hands around either. We installed in the center of a bung plug to make removal, cleaning, replacement or work effortless by simply unscrewing the plug. Works great! Review: Received promptly and easy to install. Thanks.** A: I think it would work just fine. The float that runs the dial is hanging from a string. As long as the angle is not too steep and you position the direction of the gauge so that the string is not too crooked on the spool it should work. It is not that expensive and would be worth a try. It is cheaper to order it directly from the company. **Q: what is the diameter of the float hole needed** A: The hole needs to be 32 mm or ~1.25" min. **Q: How shallow a tank does it work for?
