What's the real deal?** A: It's 36 months through Optima. Unlike going back to the parts store what you have to do is file a claim with Amazon customer service. They do all the leg work from there. So here is the issue you have to decide if it's worth it or not. It can take a week between customer service contact, optima approves, new battery received. Can you make it a week without a battery??I have only seen one issue with an Optima battery back when I worked at a marine dealer. We sold a hundred or so a year (was there 2-1/2 years). Mine is only a couple months old, but I did accidentally kill it installing amps, subs, stereo, and it recharged and has no issues. Hope this helps. **Q: does this battery come fully charged?** A: Mine came fully charged, my vehicle indicates 12.0V (engine not running) and ~13.8 to 14.0V (engine running). I keep this vehicle hooked up to a Deltran Battery Tender and it did not take too long for the Battery Tender to register Green (fully charged) once hooked up (~a few hours or so). **Q: This says unboxed. How is it packaged? Does it come with all the accessories in the retail box including spacing adapters?** A: Yes, mine came with the appropriate spacers for my particular form factor. I have a 2001 f-150 and I am sure glad it came with the spacers because I had to use one of them to get it to fit. I comes in a box with the spacer inside of it. So as far as the spacers go, Optima thought of everything! This battery was purchased back in September/2015; & has to be the most impressive battery that I've experienced in my 40+ yrs of driving Multiple vehicles! I began having issues "starting-up" last January, IF I let it sit more than 3 days with-out driving it! It would just turn over 1-2 times & then only click... requiring a jump... Then it would continue to start up fine the rest of the day, & as long as I started it up, & drove it every day, it worked just fine; until I let it sit again for more than 3 days with-out starting/driving it! = Jump! The specialist claim the average battery life is 3-5 years, but isn't unheard of getting 6 years, if you keep your car well maintained & the battery god's favor you! lol But 9 years,..... That's impressive AF! I went with (purchased) the slightly stronger, more expensive yellow top this time around; see if I can get 10 yrs out of this one, lol.... But I hate to toss the old one out; I'll find an alternative use for it... It's a little dirty, but still has a little life left, if doesn't involve starting engines; I'm thinking this Christmas train I'm build as front yard display to drive around my 8' inflatable Tree, lol...
