Product Description Covonia mentholated cough mixture provides symptomatic relief of chesty coughs and sore throats. It is an effective medication that helps to relieve:- Congestion and irritation, - Mild expectorant to help remove phlegm and a demulcent. Liquorice and Squill belong to a group of medicines known as expectorants. They help loosen phlegm in people with chesty coughs by coughing it up. Liquorice is also a demulcent, which means that it soothes the throat. The other active ingredient is menthol, which helps to relieve congestion and gives a lovely fresh sensation. Covonia mentholated cough mixture works without causing drowsiness and is suitable for adults, elderly and children age 5 years and over. *Chesty Cough Mixture Mentholated. Always read the label. Ingredients ingredients per 5ml: levomenthol 4mg, squill tincture 0.6ml, liquorice liquid extract 0.125ml. Also contains: ethanol, sucrose, glucose, sodium parahydroxybenzoates (E215, E219). Alcohol 7vol%. Sucrose 1.3g per 5ml. Safety Warning Keep out of the reach and sight of children. 1. Before you use this medicine do not use the medicine if your have.. An allergy to any of the ingredients listed in section 3. Any type of heart complaint. Talk to your doctor if your are taking.. Carbenoxolone for a stomach ulcer. Medicines which help remove fluids from the body (e.g. water tablets). Pregnant or breastfeeding.. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Important ingredient information contains 7.7vol% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 600mg per 10ml dose, equivalent to 15ml beer, or 6ml wine per dose. Harmful for those suffering from alcoholism. To be taken into account in children, pregnant women and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy. It contains glucose and sucrose. Each 5ml contains 1.53g sucrose. To be taken into account in patients with diabetes. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. It contains sodium methyl, sodium ethyl and sodium propyl parahydroxybezoates (e215, e219) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) 2 possible side effects like all medicines Covonia chesty cough mixture mentholated can have side effects, although these don't affect everyone. Possible side effects are: allergic reactions such as dermatitis, skin rash, flushing and itchy lumps. Higher sodium salt and water levels within the body. Low blood potassium levels within body. Unbalanced potassium and sodium levels may produce side effects of muscle weakness, confusion, disorientation , and irregular heartbeat. If you notice these or any other side effect not included above, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do. 3. Further information if you accidentally take too much see a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine you have swallowed. Do not use after the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Return any unused medicine to the pharmacy for disposal.
