## Description

Parafilm M is a semi-transparent laboratory and general-purpose sealing film. Sticks instantly to itself and is ideal for sealing culture tubes, flasks, petri dishes and virtually any laboratory vessel or instrument. It provides protection to your samples from outside air, gases, alcohols, most acids, and lightly concentrated alkalies. Film thickness: 0.005". size: 4" x 250 ft. Rolls. 1 roll/Pack; 12 packs/case. I use it often to seal partially used glue containers. It stretches and conforms to the shape of the tube or bottle and forms a good seal. It can be wrapped around multiple times and it sticks to itself very well because of stretching. For this reason it can stick better than kitchen plastic wrap, and it's also chemically relatively inert and resistant to many chemicals, including strong acids and bases (for some time. ) It seems expensive, but the package is heavy and it last for a long time if used for its purpose. It's generally not used for very large openings, like food containers or trays. The best way of removing the paper backing is to slightly stretch the film until the paper tears.

**Q: Besides the length, what is the difference between 4" x 125' and 4" x 250' on 1" core?**
A: To my knowledge the only difference between the two is the amount of Parafilm on each roll.  Both are 4"wide, and both have a center hole or 'core' of 1"  But one has 125 feet and the other has 250 feet per roll. It also comes in a narrower roll, I believe about 2" wide, which is what I have.  I hope this helps, but perhaps contacting the manufacturer would provide a more definitive answer, in the event that I am missing something.

**Q: What does pm999 mean? are there different grades or types of parafilm? does the number refer to the size of the tape , or its permeability?**
A: PM999 is the model number. We offer three different sizes of parafilm: 2” x 250’ (Model # PM992), 4” x 125’ (PM996) and 4” x 250’ (PM998).

**Q: Please can anyone tell me if it comes in the cardboard box dispenser the 4"250' core?**
A: Mr. Cappello:  I purchased the 4" x 125' roll.  The box, on the top;  Dispense Parafilm Through This Opening.  On the side says; For Use In Your Dispenser.   At the bottom on the side; a slot says 'pinch here' for a dispensing slot.  The Parafilm must be cut, the size you need, off anyway.  So, the box works fine for me.
