## Overview

Modern Art by CMON is a fast-paced, award-winning auction and economic strategy board game for 3-5 players aged 10 and up. Featuring four distinct auction mechanisms and a 45-minute playtime, it challenges players to buy and sell paintings to maximize profits. Part of the renowned Knizia auction trilogy, this game blends strategic depth with social interaction, making it a must-have for millennial professionals seeking engaging, intellectually stimulating entertainment.

## Description

Buying and selling paintings can be a very lucrative business. Five different artists have produced a bunch of paintings, and it's the player's task to be both the buyer and the seller, hopefully making a profit in both roles. He does this by putting a painting from his hand up for auction each turn. He gets the money if some other player buys it, but must pay the bank if he buys it for himself. After each round, paintings are valued by the number of paintings of that type that were sold. The broker with the most cash after four rounds is the winner.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If I purchase this from Amazon, will it come with the new wooden gavel?**
A: yes, it does come with a wooden gavel in this version (2019). I have received the wood gavel along with others. If you order it here you will revive the wood gavel. To avoid confusion the people who haven't received it like rick (who answered the question here) purchased it prior to 2019. So if the wood gavel was the deal breaker than I suggest purchasing the game right now on discount and receiving it with the wood gavel as it's a fabulous acution game.
Thank you,

**Q: Does the edition shipped in 2021 contain a wooden gavel?**
A: I bought in November 2021 and it came with the wooden gavel
