Chamomile can be sedating which isn't good if you take it during the day. There are better options that aren't sedating or as sedating like passion flower, kava, kanna, or an adaptogen such as ashwagandha or rhodiola rosea. For insomnia, chamomile may help, but it's better to combine it with other supplements rather than taking it by itself. A good combination is chamomile with passion flower, valerian, magnesium, lemon balm, and maybe GABA and skullcap as well. If your insomnia is severe, I would recommend taking melatonin too.
