Review: Expensive, but slick design - I finally got sick of the no-doubt unhealthy plastic taste, and messy aluminum oxide (from the cage) all over the outside of my standard water bottles. In fact, I really hesitated to even use these old bottles, just carrying one as drinking bladder back-up for unexpected visits to Desperation Straights on desert rides. Fidlocks are expensive, but made with BPA-free, tasteless plastic. The bottle also stays put remarkably well, even on rough terrain with my MTB. I was expecting it to rattle off and hit the ground at least once, but it hasn't yet. It's no more fiddly to replace the bottle than it is to cram one into a cage. And it's really nice to have the low profile bracket instead of a bulky cage when I'm not carrying a bottle. Being able to carry a bottle I actually want to drink from means I can leave the Camelbak home for shorter rides, which is more comfortable and freeing.
