Review: Great ball. - I made my purchase in March of 2025. I must say the overall quality of this product far exceeded my expectations. Amazing grip and feel. The only issue I have is in the durability of the product. After owning and using for about 3 months it went flat out of nowhere. No visible rips, tears, or puncture wounds. Other than that a great product I would definitely recommend to others.

**Q: What's the difference between the GST 1003 and the GST 1004?**
A: From what I can tell on the Wilson site:http://www.downtownathletic.com/pdfs/catalogs/wilson/2013-Wilson-Fall.pdf, the 1003 is the "Official Collegiate Pattern" and the 1004 is the "Official Pro Pattern."  I think that means the 1003 is just slightly smaller but still within the specs of a collegiate ball.  Both are approved for NCAA and NFHS use.  I'm guessing the 1003 is used more in high school ball.  I hope that helps.

**Q: max inflate?**
A: Use your best judgment. Maybe close to it

**Q: Is it okay for streets/concrete ?**
A: NO!!!!!  This is one of the best,BUT IT IS NOT made for concrete or hard abrasive surfaces. It wont last long on concrete or hard abrasive surfaces. It is best for Grass or turf use only!

**Q: I need to know if this ball (wilson f1780 gst composite) is nfhs approved.  can anyone certify that to me?**
A: The 1780 is stamped NFHS. However it's only approved for on-field play, not in-game play. Meaning it's size is functionally appropriate for practice. The Wilson "Game" & "Prime" balls are NFHS & NCAA approved for official game use.

I've always loved the feel and weight of a true authentic football. I saw Ohio State using these in their bowl games against Alabama and Oregon and had to have one. There's many things I absolutely love about this ball. I'll start with the pros...The feel of an authentic "Game ball" is second to none. While it takes a little bit of time and some elbow grease to shed this ball of its protective layer, nothing feels better. What I like about this football that I've not found on any other ball are the stitched on stripes that have taken the place of the standard painted on stripes. Besides never having to worry about the paint wearing off, these stripes of made of a synthetic tacky material that the ball easy to handle, catch and throw. This is a big football. So for people with smaller hands that have a hard time gripping it thesea come in handy. The graphics on a high end ball are always branded and embossed on the ball instead of stamped. While it's irrelevant to the actual performance of the ball, it justifies the price you pay. The only con I can come up with would be the synthetic lacing system. While it states on the description of the ball that the synthetic laces give the thrower better command of the football, I've noticed it's taken a lot longer to get that slippery feeling off the laces than it did the football itself. This ball needs to be broken in thoroughly through use before a true review can be done, but to get a little piece of the college game at an affordable price, this ball is top of the line! You can't beat it.
