While this green one has held up great since Christmas, it does show the wear and tear on it. Because of that I am going to try the blue one which says it is stronger than the green one. I did forget to mention this aspect. Yes, it is a "cheaply made" clasp, and it does break away nicely when pulled on. From a mother a d a teachers point of view, I believe the creator made the clasp in this manor for safety reasons. That way the child can not be choke by the necklace. With that said, the length also adds further safety for our children with more than enough room so they do not choke. *I have added a picture of my son with his green one when he first started using it.
